My burp cloths are all handmade and crocheted with soft baby yarn.

I use 3 layers of fabric, for better absorbency. A print or solid color is used for the front and back, and I add another layer in the middle.

They mimick the HEMSTITCHED  BURP CLOTH made years ago. They are still done this way and you will see alot of them for sale on-line. The edges were done on an old HEMSTITCHING SEWING MACHINE, to poke holes and than were crocheted.

Since I do not have a HEMSTITCHING MACHINE, which are very rare now, to find one, I use my regular sewing machine and sew a zig-zag stitch with a WING needle to poke the holes were I crochet the edges. This way the holes and crochet stitching is even.

They look just as pretty as if they were done on a Hemstitching machine, and make wonderful Unique gifts.
