Do you want to join us? Are you interested in opening a store here? We would love to see your store and products at Wagglepop! But here are a few things you should know... Having a store anywhere away from Ebay is going to require work on your part and sales do not happen overnight here. We members suggest that you commit to Wagglepop for at least 6 months, as that is the minimum time it will take to create your store and build your business on Wagglepop. Use those months to design your store with a logo and template that shows your business and your personality, list everything you can in your store, visit the community boards, and advertise your britches off! Visit the Community Boards Wagglepop has a very strong and dedicated community of members who are all wanting to meet and chat with you on the Community Boards. Wagglepop`s Community Board policy is to maintain a friendly, helpful, productive and proactive environment for all of its members. So, with that in mind I would like to invite you to join us on the Community Boards. There are ALOT of helpful information on WP``s Community Boards. You`ve Opened a Store, Now What? Other store owner, Remotes4Less has created a page that will help you get started. This page explains how to set up your payment options, combined shipping, categories, business builder tools, and Community Boards siggy. Visit his store pages for details Tips on Listing List EVERYTHING you have. Your store and ALL of your items on Wagglepop are indexed on Google.com once a day. Every listing you complete is one more chance for a buyer to find you. But don`t just list your item, make sure you list to attract buyers... Good Targeted Titles - Understand your market, and target it, by using exact keyword phrases in your listing titles. Use sites such as Wordtracker, Overture, and Google AdWords to find out all of the relevant search phrases for your items and products. Take Good Pictures - I`ve often heard the phrase, a picture is worth a thousand words. Well this can be true with good photography skills. If your picture isn`t clear and focused on the item you are selling, then your picture isn`t worth 10 words. Some picture taking tips: get yourself a really large white or cream colored tablecloth, a smaller black tablecloth, a large cardboard box, and a good digital camera. Set up an area for picture taking (I do mine on the dining room table), put the cardboard box on the table upside down or on its side, then put the large white tablecloth on the table and over the back creating a white background for your photo area. Place your item in front of the covered box and practice taking your pictures. Make sure your item is the full focus of your picture and a straight on shot is usually the best. If needed, get more boxes to put under the tablecloth, stand on a stool, or get closer or further away. Buyers do not need or want to see your furniture or decorations in your pictures and doing that takes the focus off of your item that you are trying to sell them. When you have loaded the pictures on your computer, really look at them. If there is something in the background other than your white tablecloth, use the crop feature or retake the picture. If the color is not showing properly, retake the picture. If the picture is fuzzy or unclear, retake the picture. You want to have the best picture available for your listing to attract a buyer, so if you have to retake the picture 10 times, then that is what you must do. Don`t worry, you will get the hang of it after alot of practice. Good Descriptions - Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words. BUT, search engines do not pick up the words or descriptions from your pictures. So with that said, you must describe your item like there is no photo for the buyer to see (even though you need one of those too). The first thing you should type in your description is a repeat of the words or a variation of those words from your title. Then describe your item IN DETAIL. Tell them the what it is, what it is used for, who the manufacture is, what the copyright date is, what color it is, what size it is, what the measurements are (on everything - not just clothing). If you are listing something that has words on the back of the box, book, video, etc, type those words out. The more information you give about the item listed, the less questions a buyer will have. Most buyers will back out of your store before taking the time to ask you a question about your item. Fair Shipping Prices - We all know that buyers on Ebay had to pay high shipping prices because of the high fees the sellers were charged. Well, that doesn`t happen here on Wagglepop. On Wagglepop, a buyer won`t pay $5.00 for shipping when they know the shipping will only cost the seller $2.00. So with that in mind, weigh your item with a box at the item can be shipped in, round the weight to include some packaging materials (bubblewrap, foam, peanuts, etc). Then type in the shipping weight of your item in the calculated shipping area of your listing. How to Gain Exposure There are many ways to gain exposure to your Wagglepop store. Here are some topics on the boards to get you started, just visit the boars and look for these titles......... 1) Advertising Ideas 2) Get Your Business Name Out There 3) All Things Wagglepop Blog 4) Visit the Community Boards on a regular basis, daily if possible. If you`ve set up your siggy (as explained on the Remotes4Less How-to page linked above), then each time you post, someone will see your store name. Sellers are buyers too!
