Title Violations
One of the most important parts of selling on Wagglepop is to be sure
you are in compliance with all facets of the Listing Policy.
Beyond that, and particularly important, is to be sure to list within
those guidelines and to steer clear of any Title Violations.
Title
Violations are particularly serious violations of the Listing Policy,
and for that reason, they are given extra weight and consideration.
Please note: The violations outlined below apply to item
descriptions as well, as descriptions are also searchable.

Why are Title Violations so serious?
 |
Titles can deceive potential
buyers.
A listing title is meant to describe the item being offered,
descriptively and accurately. A title that has deceptive or
unrelated keywords can deceive buyers into thinking that the
item is one thing, when it is actually another. |
 |
Titles are searchable.
The majority of searches on Wagglepop are keyword driven, and
for that reason, a listing title that has deceptive or
unrelated keywords in it will display similar results to
potential buyers searching by keyword. |
 |
Titles can drive inappropriate
traffic.
Inappropriate traffic is defined as using a title that
attempts to get a high "click-thru" rate based
primarily on deceptive or unrelated keywords. For potential
buyers, these listings serve only to make their search more
time consuming, and serve no purpose for the community in that
regard. |
How is a Title Violation determined?
A listing title is considered in violation of the Listing
Policy if exhibiting one or both of the violation characteristics
below:
 |
Title displays deceptive keywords.
Deceptive keywords are meant only to drive inappropriate
or additional traffic to a listing, and do not relate
directly to the actual item listed.
Examples include:
|
 |
Title displays unrelated
keywords.
Certain keywords are restricted from use in any
listing titles, unless a material and necessary part of
the item being offered, such as a book title, for
example. Example restrictions below:
Restricted Title Keywords
| Word |
Example |
| not
|
Beautiful
Silver Watch not
Gold |
| like
|
New
Computer like
Apple |
|
?
|
Old Hank
Aaron baseball card PSA? |
| for
|
DVD
Player for
playing Angelina Jolie movies |
..... and other similar keywords that do not directly
relate the title to the actual item listed.
|
 |
Title displays excessive keywords.
Excessive keywords are restricted from use in any
listing titles, unless a material and necessary part of
the item being offered, such as a book title, for
example.
An example of a title using excessive keywords:
1952 Topps Willie Mays PSA
GAI SGC? graded Mantle
The title above displays not only excessive keywords,
but unrelated and deceptive keywords as well.
|
|
What happens if my listing is in violation?
 |
Listing Cancellation.
If a listing title is judged to be clearly exhibiting
a Title Violation, the listing can and will be
cancelled without notice or refund. Listings that are
in violation are not only against the Listing Policy,
but also not in the spirit of any trust-based
community such as Wagglepop. Honest mistakes are just
that: honest mistakes. But purposefully misconstructed
titles are another matter entirely. They're unfair, they're
unwelcome and more than that ..... they're wrong. |
 |
Membership Suspension or
Revocation.
Cases exhibiting extreme or repetitive violations
subject the offender to either membership suspension
or revocation, at the sole discretion of Wagglepop. |
